Carper Contemporary presents Paper Projects, a group exhibition featuring five artists who each use the intimate material of paper as their primary medium. Exhibited artwork reflects the scope of this material through distinct female voices from Utah’s contemporary art scene including Amanda Lee, Anna Laurie Mackay, Elise Wehle, Lydia Gravis and Ya’el Pedroza.

Carper Contemporary features Laura Hendricks’ surreal photographic landscapes and Havoc Hendricks’ minimalist mountain paintings for LESS UP, BLESS UP at the Argo House. This exhibition reflects the artists’ collective decision to simplify their lives – from imposed religious obligations to frivolous materialism - and the ultimate creative freedom they experienced from doing so.

Touching the Void is an exhibition of abstract drawings and paintings by Ogden-based artist Lydia Gravis, who uses physical mark-making as an empathic response to the intangible human experiences of everyday life.

This ongoing curatorial project stems from a shared motivation to provide an outlet for experiencing and exhibiting contemporary art in Ogden, while expanding the ways in which we integrate art into the public realm.

Lenka Konopasek is a painter, sculptor and installation artist whose work comments on the beauty of destruction while raising important questions about the environmental consequences of human behavior. Remnants is an exhibition of Konopasek’s powerful three dimensional paper sculptures that defy the fragility of their medium with a dark and dangerous presence.
